This delightful range, North of Rachel Nevada, can be reached by cars with modest clearance; only the last few miles are rough. In most years there is a nice camp area right by a stream, and the range is normally well-watered in the valley. Indeed, in wet years, you may have to make eight or ten stream crossings on the hikes. The elevations of both the camp spot and mountains are enough to make this a good "shoulder season" trip, either in late spring or late summer.
